RFID Global Solutions (RFIDGS) has joined the Zebra Enterprise Solutions (ZES) partner program, giving RFIDGS access to resell a range of active RFID products offered by ZES. While RFIDGS had previously sold Zebra RFID printers and ZES Ultra Wide Band solutions, the partnership now allows RFIDGS to resell WhereNet RTLS products along with ZES’s GPS-based Infoman equipment.
BlueStar has become a distributor for Impinj readers and antennas in North America and Latin America. BlueStar customers will gain access to Impinj’s Speedway UHF Gen 2 readers and the company’s line of antennas.
STMicroelectronics and Stollmann announced an agreement to offer complete NFC solutions to mobile consumer device manufacturers. The two companies are currently sampling packaged hardware and software solutions with lead customers. Stollmann is adapting its portable NFC software with the Java JSR-257 application programming interface to ST’s NFC chips. ST’s ST21NFCA chip supports all popular formats for NFC cards and RFID tags.
St. Clair County Community College and Mott Community College have developed RFID laboratories and a certificate program with Dynamic Computer Corporation and Stratum Global. The program was supported by a $2 million grant from the US Dept. of Labor and is intended to prepare students for the CompTia RFID+ certification test.
IPICO announced an agreement with Runners Inc. for distribution of its IPICO Sports tracking and timing solutions in Japan. IPICO’s IP-X protocol incorporates dual frequencies, designed to reduce signal loss and tag read collision for objects high in liquid, carbon or electrical content, such as the human body. IPICO Sports systems are currently in use in 36 countries.
Comit Systems announced a partnership with GreenPeak Technologies to provide battery-free wireless network solutions. Comit will offer engineered network solutions using GreenPeak technology and ZigBee standards. Comit will also provide solutions that co-exist with legacy networks.
Yasheng ECO-Trade signed an agreement with Better Online Solutions (BOSC) for consulting services for the Yasheng Asian Pacific Cooperative Zone and the Yasheng Live Stock Breeding Complex. Under the agreement, BOSC will provide supply chain solutions and RFID protocols, and Yasheng ECO-Trade will provide first right refusal from matching bid contract for related projects.
Dynamic Computer Corporation and Versus Technology have implemented a pilot system for tracking hand hygiene compliance at the University of Miami Center for Patient Safety. The system uses IR-RF sensors in soap dispensing units that read staff ID badges and monitor the location and timing of hand-washings.
Newport Digital Technologies signed a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro to market the company’s wireless solutions and products globally. Recall NDT is commercializing several mobile computing RFID products under a partnership with Tawainese R&D incubators, the Institute for Information Industry (III) and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI).
FileTrail announced an alliance with Lexmark to create an end-to-end RFID solution for item management, tracking, and printing. The alliance combines FileTrail’s software and services with Lexmark’s T654 monochrome laser printer.
HID announced a partnership with Select Technologies for marketing secure identity solutions to the Indian market. The partnership expands channel coverage for “HID on the Desktop,” a package which includes HID cards, a reader, and naviGO software.
